Step into the ephemeral, lush, chillhop world of Kukyo by Garot Michael Conklin. The Japanese meaning of Kukyo can be loosely translated as, vacant or emptiness. Which is perfectly contradictory to how the album sounds to us here at Tsunami Sounds.

Anything but “empty,” this album is overflowing with gorgeous melodies, dreamy synthwork, masterful strokes of mood and color from Conklin’s laid back and moving flugelhorn playing, and through it all - a thread of melancholy that begins to hint at the album title’s possible origin.
